Below are a couple links to a freely available, free to distribute, uncopyrighted audio version of the Bible. The version that is being read is the the World English Bible which is a public domain update of the American Standard Version of 1901 into modern English. This audio Bible can be legally copied and given to others for non-commercial use.

The links encompass the whole Bible. These are large files! The New Testement is 175MB and the Old Testement (Hebrew Bible) is 556MB. You will need a fast Internet connection to download these files.

All of the files are in "zip" format and each chapter in each book is a seperate file in freely distributable MP3 format. This format is compatable with all digital music players, computers, iPods and the like.
